Gracious
A feminine variant of Jane, which is the medieval English form of Jehanne, a French feminine form of Iohannes (John). The name ultimately derives from the Hebrew name Yochanan, meaning 'Yahweh is gracious'. The 'y' spelling gained popularity in the mid-20th century as a more stylized alternative to the classic Jane.
