Janaye is a modern American elaboration of Jane, which ultimately derives from the Hebrew name Yochanan. It combines the classic 'Jan' root with a stylish 'aye' suffix, giving it a contemporary rhythmic appeal. While it shares the same etymological roots as Joan and Jean, it is a distinct 20th-century creation.
