Supplanter
A Spanish and Portuguese form of James, which ultimately derives from the Hebrew name Jacob. It carries the traditional meaning of one who follows or replaces another. While primarily masculine in Spanish-speaking cultures, it has gained significant use as a feminine name in English-speaking countries.
