The universe or world
Jag is a short form of the Sanskrit word Jagat, which encompasses the entirety of the world or universe. While it is often used as a prefix in longer Indian names like Jagdish or Jagdev, it has emerged as a punchy, modern standalone choice. In English-speaking contexts, it is also associated with the sharp, jagged edges of nature or the luxury automotive brand Jaguar.
