Pledged to God
A rare spelling variant of Isabella, which is the Spanish and Italian form of Elizabeth. It ultimately derives from the Hebrew name Elisheba, meaning 'God is my oath' or 'pledged to God'. While the double-S spelling is less common, it retains the lyrical, romantic quality of the original.
