Fiery or burning
Ignacia is the feminine form of Ignatius, derived from the Roman family name Egnatius. Its spelling was later altered to resemble the Latin word 'ignis', meaning fire, giving it a spirited and passionate connotation. It has historically been popular in Spanish-speaking cultures due to the influence of Saint Ignatius of Loyola.
