Hay valley or hedged valley
Derived from Old English elements 'heg' (hay) and 'denu' (valley), or 'hege' (hedge) and 'dun' (hill). It originally served as a surname for families living near these geographical features. While less common than the 'Hayden' spelling, it retains a distinct, surname-style appeal.
