Flight or stranger
Derived from the Hebrew name Hagar, it is traditionally interpreted as meaning 'flight' or 'forsaken.' In the Old Testament, Hagar was an Egyptian handmaid to Sarah and the mother of Ishmael, the patriarch of the Arab people.
