Staff of the Geats or staff of the gods
Derived from the Old Norse elements 'Gautr' (referring to the Geats, a North Germanic tribe) and 'stafr' (staff). It has long been a royal name in Sweden, associated with numerous kings since the 16th century. The name suggests a leader or a pillar of the community.
