Staff of the Geats or staff of the gods
Gustabo is a rare phonetic variant of the Scandinavian name Gustav. It is derived from the Old Norse elements 'gautr', referring to the Geats people of Sweden, and 'stafr', meaning staff or pillar. While the 'v' spelling is standard, the 'b' variant occasionally appears in Spanish-speaking contexts due to the similar pronunciation of those letters in Spanish.
