Calm or healer

Gaylen is a variant of Galen, derived from the Greek name Galenos. It was famously borne by the 2nd-century Greek physician Claudius Galenus, whose work dominated Western medical science for over a millennium. While traditionally masculine, it has seen occasional unisex use in the United States.
