Calm or serene
Derived from the ancient Greek name Galene, it refers to a state of calm or tranquility, particularly in reference to the sea. In Greek mythology, Galene was a minor goddess or Nereid who personified calm waters. The name has long been a staple in Russia and Eastern Europe.
