Elizza is a modern phonetic variant of Eliza, which itself is a diminutive of Elizabeth. It carries the same Hebrew roots meaning 'God is my oath' or 'pledged to God.' While the double-z spelling adds a contemporary flair, it retains the spirited and vintage charm of its predecessor.
