In Japanese, Eimi is often formed from kanji such as 'ei' (prosperous/excellent) or 'e' (blessing/picture) combined with 'mi' (beautiful/fruit). Separately, it is a modern Greek transliteration of the verb meaning 'I am'. In Western contexts, it is frequently used as a phonetic variant of Amy.
