The Aegean Sea or maturity
In Turkish, Ege refers to the Aegean Sea, the arm of the Mediterranean located between Greece and Turkey. It also carries connotations of maturity, wisdom, or being an elder in certain linguistic contexts. It is a popular, gender-neutral name in Turkey but is predominantly used for boys in the United States.
