Gift of God
Derived from the Greek name Dorotheos, it is composed of the elements 'doron' (gift) and 'theos' (god). It was a popular name in the early Christian era, borne by several saints, and later became a staple in English-speaking countries before being largely replaced by its variation, Dorothy.
