Desired or long-awaited
Desia is often considered a shortened form of the Latin name Desideria, the feminine version of Desiderius. It carries the heartfelt sentiment of being a child who was deeply wished for. In some contexts, it is also used as a modern elaboration of the name Daisy or a variation of the Greek name Deasia.
