Follower of Dionysos or valley
Originally a diminutive of Dennis, it traces back to the Greek god Dionysos, associated with wine and celebration. It also exists as an English surname referring to someone who lived in a valley or 'denu'. While popular in the mid-20th century, it is now a rare, retro choice for boys.
