Blind or from the valley
Dallan is an Irish name with two primary etymological paths. It is often considered a diminutive of the Old Irish word 'dall', meaning blind, famously associated with the 6th-century saint Dallán Forgaill. Alternatively, it is sometimes used as a variant of the English surname Dallin, which refers to someone living in a valley.
