Daliyah has dual roots, most commonly derived from the Arabic word for a climbing grapevine or water bucket. In a Hebrew context, it refers to a slender branch or bough. It is also frequently used as a modern creative spelling of Dahlia, referring to the flower named after botanist Anders Dahl.
