Daion is a modern spelling variant of Dion, which is a shortened form of the Greek name Dionysios. It refers to a follower of Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, fertility, and revelry. While rare, it follows the contemporary trend of using 'ai' vowel combinations to update classic sounds.
