To divide, distribute, or a divine spirit
Derived from the Greek word 'daimon', it originally referred to a lesser deity or guiding spirit that distributed fate. In classical mythology, these were often seen as benevolent mediators between gods and mortals. The name is a variant of Damon, though it retains the more ancient Greek spelling.
