Laurel tree or bay tree
Dafina is the Albanian and Swahili form of the Greek name Daphne. In Greek mythology, Daphne was a nymph who transformed into a laurel tree to escape Apollo, leading the laurel to become a symbol of honor and victory. In Swahili, the name is also associated with the word for 'treasure' or 'hidden gift'.
