Charioteer or son of the defiler
Cormick is an anglicized form of the Irish name Cormac. While the exact etymology is debated, it is most commonly associated with the Old Irish elements 'corb' meaning chariot and 'mac' meaning son, or alternatively linked to 'corbaid' meaning defilement. It has deep roots in Irish legend and royal history.
