Coriana is likely a modern elaboration of the name Cora, derived from the Greek 'kore' meaning maiden. It may also be interpreted as a blend of Cora and the suffix -iana, or a variant of Corinne. Some etymologies link it to the Roman name Corianus, associated with the Latin word for spear.
