Blind
Cicely is a medieval English form of Cecilia. It stems from the Roman family name Caecilius, derived from the Latin word 'caecus', meaning blind. In the Middle Ages, the name was also associated with the sweet-smelling herb sweet cicely, giving it a botanical connection.
