A rare variant of Charity, derived from the Late Latin word 'caritas', meaning generous love or affection. In a Christian context, it represents the highest form of love between God and man, or man and his neighbor. While the 'Charity' spelling is more common, this version emphasizes the 'cher' root, similar to 'cherish'.
