Very dear; grace
Caryssa is a modern elaboration of Carissa, which is derived from the Greek word 'charis' meaning grace. It is also influenced by the Latin 'carus' meaning dear or beloved. The double 's' spelling gives it a contemporary, decorative flair compared to its more traditional counterparts.
