Carrisa is a modern variant of Carissa, likely derived from the Greek word 'charis' meaning grace. It may also be influenced by the Latin 'carus' meaning dear or beloved. Though rare today, it gained some traction in the late 20th century as a more elaborate alternative to Carrie or Cara.
