Bryssa is a modern name likely derived from the Greek name Briseis or as a creative elaboration of the Welsh name Bryce. In Greek mythology, Briseis was a noblewoman during the Trojan War. It may also be used as a feminine form of the name Bryson, meaning son of Bryce.
