Derived from the Welsh elements 'bron' meaning breast or hill, and 'gwen' meaning white, fair, or blessed. While traditionally the masculine form in Wales is Bronwyn and the feminine is Bronwen, Bronwyn has become the standard spelling for girls in the United States.
