From Brittany or Great Britain
A modern variant of Brittany, referring to the region in northwest France or the island of Great Britain. The name originally denoted the Celtic people who migrated from Britain to the French peninsula. It gained immense popularity in the United States during the 1980s and 1990s in various spelling forms.
