Beloved; possibly a diminutive of Briseis
Brisia is often considered a Spanish diminutive of Briseis, the name of a character in Greek mythology. In the Iliad, Briseis was a beautiful woman of Lyrnessus who became a central figure in the conflict between Achilles and Agamemnon. It is also sometimes associated with the Latin 'brevis' meaning short, though the mythological connection is more common in naming contexts.
