House of figs
Betheny is a variant spelling of Bethany, a biblical village near Jerusalem where Lazarus and his sisters lived. The name is derived from Aramaic and is often interpreted as 'house of figs' or 'house of affliction'. While the 'y' spelling is less common than the traditional 'Bethany', it retains the same historical and geographical roots.
