Elf counsel or bird-like
Avorie is a modern phonetic variant of Avery, which derives from the Old French version of the Germanic name Alberich. It combines the elements 'alb' meaning elf and 'ric' meaning power or counsel. Additionally, it is sometimes associated with the Latin 'avis', meaning bird.
