Descendant of Atri; wise
Atreya is a Sanskrit name meaning 'descendant of Atri.' In Hindu tradition, Atri was one of the Saptarishi (seven great sages), and the name is deeply associated with ancient wisdom and the transmission of the Ayurveda.
