Light, horse-tamer, or the first star
Derived from the Sanskrit word 'Ashvin', it refers to the twin Vedic deities of the sunrise and sunset. In Hindu mythology, the Ashvins are divine physicians who ride a golden chariot. The name is also associated with the first month of the Hindu lunar calendar.
