Aren has dual roots, functioning as a Scandinavian variant of Arne, meaning 'eagle', and as an Armenian name meaning 'sun' or 'holy'. In some contexts, it is also considered a variation of the Hebrew name Aaron, which means 'mountain of strength' or 'exalted'.
