Apolonio is the Spanish and Portuguese form of the Greek name Apollonios, derived from the god Apollo. In Greek mythology, Apollo was the god of music, truth, prophecy, and light. The name has been borne by several early Christian saints, giving it a long history in the Mediterranean world.
