Beloved or whole
Ammie is primarily a diminutive of Amy, derived from the Old French 'Amée' meaning 'beloved'. It can also serve as a variant of the Germanic name Amma, which relates to the concept of 'whole' or 'universal'. In modern usage, it is often chosen as a softer, more unique alternative to the classic Amy.
