Night rain or end; high place
Amaiya is a modern variant of Amaya. In Japanese, it is often associated with 'night rain', while in Basque, it signifies the 'end' or 'conclusion'. It is also sometimes linked to Arabic roots meaning 'high place' or 'pleasant'.

Amaiya isn't in the latest US Top 1000. It last peaked at #1,550 in 2000.
