Noble or of noble birth
Alyssia is a modern elaboration of Alice, which ultimately derives from the Germanic name Adalheidis. It combines the classic roots of 'noble' with the popular 'ia' suffix found in names like Alicia and Alyssa. While it shares a phonetic connection to the Alyssum flower, its etymological history is rooted in European nobility.
Less common today
Alyssia isn't in the latest US Top 1000. It last peaked at #953 in 1998.
