Little rock, handsome, or harmony
The exact etymology is debated, but it is most commonly linked to the Celtic word for 'little rock' or 'handsome.' It may also derive from the Alans, an Iranian people who migrated to Europe in the 4th and 5th centuries. In Scotland, it has been a popular name since the 11th century.
