Defender of mankind
Alexsis is a modern spelling variant of Alexis, which is derived from the Greek name Alexios. It ultimately stems from the Greek verb 'alexein', meaning to defend or help. While the original Greek form was masculine, it became a popular feminine choice in the United States during the late 20th century.
