Aleksi is the Finnish form of the Greek name Alexis. It is derived from the Greek word 'alexein', which translates to 'to defend' or 'to help'. While traditionally masculine in Finland, its phonetic similarity to Alexis and Alex makes it an appealing unisex choice in the United States.
