Of the earth or eagle
Derived from the Greek name Aias, it is traditionally associated with the Greek word 'aia', meaning earth or land. In mythology, it is also linked to 'aietos', meaning eagle, representing the bird sent by Zeus as a sign of the hero's birth. It is most famous as the name of two legendary heroes in the Trojan War.
