Bright, shining light or bird
Ailene is a variant of Eileen, which is the Irish form of Helen, meaning 'bright, shining light.' It is also sometimes associated with the Germanic name Evelyn, which may mean 'desired' or 'water, island.' In some contexts, it is linked to the Latin 'avis' meaning 'bird.'
