From Adria; dark; of the Adriatic
Adorian is a rare variant of Adrian, which is derived from the Latin name Hadrianus. It originally denoted someone from the town of Adria in Northern Italy, which also gave its name to the Adriatic Sea. While extremely uncommon in the United States, it offers a unique twist on a classic Roman name.
